What will it cost to franchise with HoneyBaked?

The initial franchise fee is $30,000. Including the franchise fee, the initial overall investment ranges from $291,700 to $516,500 to open a store in an in-line leased space. These costs vary and are outlined in our Franchise Disclosure Document, but you can read a little more about it here.

What are the financial qualifications to become a Honey Baked Ham Co.® franchisee?

You can find more information about costs and requirements here, but the basic numbers are below.

For a multi-unit investment, we require a net worth of at least $500,000 and a minimum of $250,000 in liquid assets.

For a single-unit investment, we require a net worth of at least $350,000 with $100,000 in liquid assets.

Does the Honey Baked Ham Co.® offer financing?

While HoneyBaked Ham does not offer in-house financing, we have trusted relationships with a few franchise lenders who help first-time owners and seasoned HoneyBaked operators find lending solutions that match their goals.

Will I be able to open additional stores?

Yes. Your success – and ours – is tied to your growth and profitability. Many of our current franchisees have more than one store. We also offer a multi-unit development plan if you’re looking to dive right in.

What training will I receive as a HoneyBaked franchisee?

We provide extensive training and support. New franchisees must complete three-to-four weeks of hands-on training (three weeks if they have prior food experience, four weeks if they don’t have prior food experience) before they can open their store. How long will it take to get started?

The time between your initial interest call and the opening of your store depends on a lot of different variables, but location is the most telling factor. We estimate it will take three to six months after signing your lease to open your store. We’ll advise and help support you through the whole process but, of course, it all hinges on your own proactive involvement in the site selection, lease negotiation, build-out and construction processes with our real estate and development team.

Once I sign a lease and get started, will I still get help if I need it?

Absolutely. You’ll be assigned a Franchise Business Consultant (FBC), who is familiar with all facets of the business. They’ll continue to mentor and help you throughout your tenure as a franchisee. In addition, we offer a variety of resources through our Corporate Service Center and an internal website that acts as a central location for marketing materials, training documents, communications and other resources with just a few clicks.

Are HoneyBaked franchisees required to have a restaurant background?

Restaurant, food and/or retail experience is a benefit but is not required.

What special skills are required for this food and restaurant franchise opportunity?

We’re looking for passionate, self-motivated candidates with some business savvy. We’ll make sure you get the training and know-how you need to succeed as a HoneyBaked Ham franchisee, but it doesn’t hurt to have a background in:
