As the year comes to a close, established franchise systems take time to reflect on what worked—and more importantly, what it means for the future. For HoneyBaked Ham, 2025 was a year defined by measured growth, strategic innovation, and renewed momentum across the franchise system. From new market franchise expansion to menu evolution and national recognition, the brand continued to reinforce why it remains a compelling opportunity for entrepreneurs evaluating their next move.
Expanding Into New and High-Demand Markets
Throughout 2025, HoneyBaked expanded its footprint through 12 new store openings across both new and existing markets, including Alabama, Tennessee, California, and Minnesota. This growth reflects a disciplined approach to development—entering markets with strong demand amongst our loyal customers while continuing to build density in proven regions.
In addition to new openings, HoneyBaked signed multiple development agreements that will bring new locations to California, Florida, Iowa, Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia in the coming years. The brand is also actively evaluating additional growth opportunities in high-potential states such as California, Texas and Florida, underscoring its commitment to thoughtful, sustainable expansion.
Menu Innovation That Supports Franchisees
While franchise expansion remained a priority, HoneyBaked also invested in menu modernization to meet evolving consumer needs and what they expect from the top food franchise brands. In 2025, the brand introduced new offerings, including Take & Bake Sliders and HoneyBaked Prime Rib—products designed to keep our brand top of mind beyond traditional holiday occasions.
These menu additions helped franchisees attract new guests, increase frequency, and balance seasonal demand with everyday volume like lunches, catering, and family meals. Strong customer response during the holiday season has positioned these items to continue as featured offerings into 2026 around holidays like Easter and more.
Recognition That Reinforces Brand Strength
HoneyBaked’s growth story in 2025 was further validated through industry recognition. The brand was recently named to the Entrepreneur Franchise 500, earning a ranking of #108 overall and securing the #1 position in its category. This distinction highlights the strength of the brand and its established franchise system across key metrics such as unit growth, financial stability, and franchisee support. The brand was also recognized as one of NRN’s America’s Favorite Chains, considering factors like value, service & hospitality and more.
Our franchisees also received some industry recognition, multi-unit franchisees Matt and Alison Bengochea were honored as Franchisees of the Year by the International Franchise Association, which is an award recognizing leadership, community involvement, and long-term commitment to the brand.
Looking Ahead to 2026
With more than 65 years of brand equity, a scalable retail-focused model, and a clear development roadmap, HoneyBaked enters 2026 with confidence. For prospective franchisees, 2025 tells a clear story: this is a brand that grows with intention, supports its operators, and continues to evolve while staying true to what made it iconic.
As HoneyBaked builds on this momentum, the year ahead presents meaningful opportunities for entrepreneurs looking to align with a proven system built for long-term growth.
