Summer is here! And with the longer days and warmer weather come all-new HoneyBaked lunch menu changes to be excited about. While our delicious, spiral-sliced Honey Baked Ham is known for being a staple at holiday meals, our lunch options are one of four ways our customers can enjoy HoneyBaked products.
The HoneyBaked
Our new lunch menu options are a refreshing changeup for our loyal customers, but luckily it won’t be a big switch for in-store team members. Part of our lunch refresh strategy includes introducing new menu items that don’t require new equipment to prepare. For example, our new sandwich, The HoneyBaked can be served hot or cold – and it’s heated using the standard equipment already in each HoneyBaked store.
This new addition was the #1 sandwich on our test menu. It’s packed full of Honey Baked Ham and topped with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, crispy onions, Sweet Honey Glaze & Duke’s Dijon Honey Mustard.
Cobb Salad
Another winner from the lunch test, the Cobb salad is a new addition to the lunch menu. It features the Cobb salad classics, like egg, blue cheese and croutons, but topped with our delicious Honey Baked Ham. The Cobb salad significantly outperformed other salads on our system-wide menu so we’re eager to add it to menus nationwide.
New Recipes
In addition to welcoming new menu items, some lunchtime favorites will stay on the menu, but with some improvements. Broccoli Bacon Bliss, Ham Salad and Chicken Salad are all getting even better with new recipes.
Deep River Chips
We are excited to welcome 4 flavors of Deep River Chips into all HoneyBaked stores. Our guests will be able to choose from Mesquite BBQ, Maui Onion, Zesty Jalapeno and Sea Salt varieties. All Deep River chips are gluten- and GMO-free.
Potato Salad Switch
One of the bigger changes coming to our lunch menu is swapping out DC pre-made potato salad with house-made Smashed Potato Salad. Thanks to this switch, owners and managers will be able to determine potato salad availability based on their store’s need. According to our estimations, transitioning to a house-made potato salad will also be more cost-effective for each of our franchisees, saving about fourteen cents per ounce. Additionally, a house-made potato salad has an improved shelf life and uses the ingredient pantry, meaning there are no unique SKUs to manage. In fact, reducing unique SKUs is a part of our corporate-wide lunch refresh strategy.
Packaging Updates
The menu isn’t the only aspect of HoneyBaked lunch that will look a little different. To match the new branding and menu changes, box lunch artwork is also getting a makeover. The new designs feature our updated logos and design standards.
As we continue to serve the World’s Best Ham and turkey sandwiches, we look forward to introducing new, delicious lunch items to all of our HoneyBaked customers. This summer lunch refresh will excite those loyal customers, and introduce high-performing items in franchise locations across the nation.
