HoneyBaked Catering Revenue Stream
Catering is one of Honey Baked Ham’s four revenue streams. Our boxed lunches, crunchy-glazed hams and tasty sides are perfect for any holiday or event and many of our franchises are equipped to make deliveries. The fact that HoneyBaked is a catering franchise, in addition to a specialty food retail and restaurant franchise, means that your business will be diversified, giving you increased opportunities to succeed in your market by fulfilling several different needs for your customers. As people are once again able to share meals with friends, coworkers and loved ones, they will be able to depend on HoneyBaked franchises to cater their get-togethers, no matter how big or small. Because we are a catering franchise, we get to be a part of our customers’ favorite meals and moments with the people they care about.
Benefits of a Catering Franchise
As HoneyBaked franchisees will tell you, there are plenty of perks to being a catering franchise in addition to a premium food retailer. Catering is a year-round revenue stream, giving our franchisees the opportunity to connect with customers beyond the holidays. But what about the industry as a whole?
Thousands of businesses have built a formidable catering industry that you could be part of by franchising with HoneyBaked. In fact, according to Restaurant Business Online, off-premise catering is key to business growth. In 2017, the overall catering market reached more than $58 billion, accounting for 11% of the total food industry. Catering is even more important as customers are still more comfortable enjoying their HoneyBaked from home and looking for more convenient options. By fulfilling these two needs, your catering franchise will carve out a spot in your local market and contribute to your bottom line.
HoneyBaked Franchisees Are Catering Franchise Experts
Thanks to our exclusive franchise territories, HoneyBaked franchisees aren’t in competition with one another. That means you can reach out to your fellow franchisees to discuss what it means to be a catering franchise and what resources you need to make it happen.
Jeff and Toni Madden, who own and operate the Barboursville, WV Honey Baked Ham store, are catering franchise experts who have pioneered a system that makes the catering revenue stream effective for their business. “When taking the order, we try to offer each item we carry, from the main entree to the sides or chips, or any vegetarian options, and go through the form to be sure we haven’t overlooked offering something the customer may need and may not have thought of, like drinks or utensils,” Toni says. “We have a large pegboard in the kitchen numbered 1-31, and we place the order form on the corresponding date of the month. Beside it is a large wipe-off board for each day’s orders, with details that are checked off as they are prepared,” The Madden’s system also includes a smaller white board noting the destination, time and who will be driving the order for each delivery. This system helps ensure that orders are accurate and on-time, the two most important factors for a catering franchise.
